📐 Formula
Paint (L) = (Paintable Area × Number of Coats) ÷ Coverage Rate💡 How It Works
- •Paintable area is total wall area minus door and window areas.
- •Coverage rate is the area that can be painted with 1 liter (typically 8-12 m²/L).
- •Two coats are recommended (1st: primer/base, 2nd: finish). Color changes may need 3 coats.
- •Standard door size is about 1.8 m² (0.9m × 2m), window about 1.5 m².
- •Typical wall height is 2.3-2.5m (7.5-8.2 ft).
- •For ceiling painting, add floor area separately.
❓ FAQ

A. The area that can be painted with 1 liter of paint. Wall paint typically covers 8-12 m²/L, primer 10-14 m²/L.
Q. How many coats do I need?
A. Usually 2 coats are recommended. Changing from light to dark color or covering stains may require 3 coats.
Q. How much paint for one room?
A. A 100 sq ft (10 m²) room with ~25 m² wall area needs about 5L for 2 coats.
Q. Is buying large cans more economical?
A. Usually yes, but leftover paint is hard to store and color options may be limited.
Q. Should I paint the ceiling too?
A. Skip it if the ceiling is in good condition. If painting, add floor area to your calculation.
